Dr. Christy Iwuchukwu wins the Girma Wolde-Giorgis Presidential Award for using communication to empower and inspire global environmental change.
The award, named after the former President of Ethiopia, Girma Wolde-Giorgis, celebrates global leaders who champion environmental preservation and education. During his presidency, Wolde-Giorgis was adamant about protecting Ethiopia's natural environment. His legacy included a powerful initiative: for every tree cut down, two more had to be planted.
