Read-out of President Obama's Call with Argentine President Fernandez de Kirchner

President Obama called Argentine President Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner this afternoon to personally express his condolences for the passing of her husband and former President Néstor Kirchner.  The President recognized the significant role that Néstor  Kirchner played in the political life of Argentina and his important role in the Union of South American Nations - UNASUR.  He relayed that his and the First Lady’s thoughts and prayers have been with President Fernandez de Kirchner, their children Máximo and Florencia, and their family.  The President also commended the Argentine people for their strength during this time of national mourning in Argentina.
