Idaho heat may be harming water supply

Idaho entered the spring season with snowpack at high levels, but much of that is melting quicker than anticipated. Not all of it is reaching the reservoirs.

Due to low precipitation this spring, more areas are expected to dry out.

Despite this, experts say the snowpack melt making it to the reservoirs should be enough water to last through the summer.

They say southern Idaho has strong reservoir storage still, which may be good news for farmers, ranchers, fishers and boaters.

Water supply conditions have been improving over the past four years, but experts believe next winter will need to provide a lot of moisture to keep the trend going.
