May the 2nd, 2025 – A direct Warsaw-Rijeka train will be put into function as of July the 1st this year, connecting the Polish capital with the popular Kvarner city.
As Morski writes, as recently confirmed by the Polish Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Darius Klimczak, a direct Warsaw-Rijeka train start its operations on July the 1st this year. This direct connection on the ground between the Polish capital and the Adriatic coast has the aim of strengthening tourist connections between Poland and Croatia.
According to the announcements, the direct Warsaw-Rijeka train could potentially also run down to Split, which will enable a cheap and comfortable trip to the Croatian coast for Polish visitors. The expected one-way ticket price will be less than 50 euros, or about 200 Polish zlotys, which makes this option the most affordable of all.
Interestingly, Croats will also be able to travel to the Polish capital city via the same route at an equally affordable price, which opens up an additional opportunity to strengthen cultural and tourist ties between these two countries.
Poland is otherwise one of the key tourist markets for Croatia. Throughout 2023 alone, over one million Poles visited the country, realising as many as 6.4 million overnight stays. For several years now, Poles have surpassed the Czechs as the most numerous guests on the Croatian coast, writes Rijeka Danas/Today.
